Phillips Brook Catchment Group
The Phillips Brook catchment arises in the north-west of the Shire of Toodyay, in the Julimar Forest. It flows along and across the Bindoon-Dewars Pool Road, through farmland, small landholdings and a number of reserves, before finally entering the Toodyay Brook at Dewars Pool.
In response to increasing environmental damage within the catchment, the Phillips Brook Catchment Group was formed in the late '90s. The Group became incorporated, and developed the following aims:
to conserve and protect indigenous flora and fauna;
reverse environmental damage within the catchment area;
promote land and water conservation practices for all types of land use;
promote sustainable land use;
develop a community based catchment planning approach; and to obtain funding for the promotion of the objectives of the group.
