TOODYAY BUSHFIRE UNDER CONTROL

A huge buhfire that started in the early afternoon of 29th December 2009 was not a good way to see the year out. Over 40 homes were destroyed, with many more damaged - some extensively.
As the cleanup continues, issues of erosion by wind and water are high on the LCDC's agenda. It recommends to land owners and managers to consider developing a management plan for their soils as part of the rehabilitation of their properties. Assistance with development of any rehabilitation plan by LCDC members is available.
