AVON GORGE INVASIVE SPECIES GROUP

The Avon Gorge Invasive Species Group (AGIS Group) is a newly formed community goup, supported by the Toodyay Friends of the River (TFOR), based in Toodyay. The AGIS Group is focused on controlling feral animals, such as pigs and goats, in the Avon Gorge and environs. This includes farming properties in the area, subjected to damage by these feral animals.

The Group will be conducting a feral species workshop in March, particularly aimed at feral pigs - one of the more significant of the feral pests in the area, particularly near water.
To compliment this workshop, a survey is beinf undertaken, and will be mailed to landholders in the area during the new year.

If you see wild pigs or goats in the Avon Gorge or surrounding areas, please contact Robert Huston (DEC Perth Hills District) on: Mob 0418 902 173.
If you wish to know more about the AGIS Group, please contact Desrae Clarke on (08) 6364 3609
